James Brandon Lewis, hailed from all corners, has a new quartet recording ready for release next week you’ll hear a preview track in hour one. The second hour features new releases by River People, a band from Manila centered around saxophonist Rick Countryman. The powerhouse jazz/rock/improv quartet, OM, also has a new release coming out this month (it celebrates their 50th year as a band), and so does another current and much respected saxophonist, Steve Lehman. In the final segment, Vancouver’s Hard Rubber Orchestra and South Korean pianist Eunhye Jeong debut their latest, and there’s a nod to the late Tomasz Stanko and a celebration to the trumpeter taking place in NYC next week.
