The pace that new material keeps arriving these days is off the chart; trying to keep up is no easy feat. Nevertheless, this episode does its best with some fine new releases for sampling. Two more from Clean Feed highlight the first hour (Andre Carvalho Trio & Space Quartet) plus Mr. Noe from Italy and M.E.B., an aggregation of former Miles Davis players from his electric period. They’ve unearthed some unrecorded trumpet tracks. Hour two bounces from the new English band Uroboro to Gebhard Ullman’s Das Kondensat to guitarist Marc Ducret and then to Slovenian saxophonist Blaz Svagan. The third hour features some very special music by drummer Lesley Mok and her ensemble, the quirky Danny Fox Trio, and a big down-home finish with the amazing Koko Taylor and Dave Sewelson, baritone saxophonist extraordinaire.
