Featured this week: some powerful music from Poland in the form of trumpeter Piotr Damasievic and the Power Of Horns Ensemble, the piano-trumpet duo of Satoko Fuji and Natsuki Tamura, and Belgian band Rorschach. Moving to the ultra-creative and experimental, you’re eyes will open at the sounds of Three Layer Cake (Mike Pride, Mike Watt & Brandon Seabrook), drummer Jason Nazary’s pandemic project, and the duo of saxophonist Camila Nebia and drummer Axel Filip from Buenos Aires. For a touch of groove there’s Henry, a N’awlins flavoured quartet led by saxophonist Nicole Johanntgen, and saxophonist Bruno Vansina from Belgium. The gaps are filled in admirably as well.
