The great Brazilian improviser Ivo Perelman returns with an interesting album, accompanied by the Arcado String Trio (Mark Feldman, Mark Dresser & Hank Roberts), while from a bit north of Brazil comes an introduction to the saxophone of Lucas Goicoechea. England’s longtime guitar guru Ray Russell makes an appearance, while the contempo scene of Albany New York is represented by Bright Dog Red and Hupata! from Netherlands debuts their unique sound. And Mingus? Always welcome, this time with music from a new release of two memorable tours of Europe in 1964 and 1975.
